2020 was quite an eventful year, however it will be a year I will remember forever for more reasons than the Pandemic. It was the year I became a mother.

My daughter, Olivia, has been the greatest blessing I could have ever asked for. She is funny, easy-going, loves to dance, and most of all has a heart of gold. Although it is a daunting task to become a mother, I have a great role model: my mom. She has been there for my brother and I as an active parent all while having a successful career in real estate. I always knew if she could do it, so could I.

I recently decided to start my own consulting business to help financial advisors with insurance and client lifecycle process enhancement. I knew having a young child and starting my own business would demand a whole lot of patience and perseverance. Doing one or the other on its own can be difficult enough, but it has been totally worth it.

I learned a lot about myself during Olivia’s first year. I have always taken time management seriously as I was a student-athlete all through high school and college. However, being a mompreneur has taken it to a whole new level. Waiting hand and foot for someone who can’t always easily communicate with you is a challenge I had never faced before. However, being with my daughter during her first year is one of the most cherished times I will ever experience.

I am proud to be a mompreneur and hope more mothers like me can see that it is possible to do both.

Happy First Birthday to our sweet Olivia.
